However, while the wins are substantial, the bonus buy costs a steep 100x your bet, so I wouldn’t recommend spending that much in hopes of additional prizes. I mostly landed wins with the 2x and 4x multipliers, which are the lowest available, but they still gave me some decent returns, up to 3x my bet. Despite these wins, my bankroll was shrinking fast and I needed to turn things around quickly. 

I had played for over half an hour without the sign of any scatters for the most part so I decided to buy the bonus game and see what the wins looked like. Once inside with 3 scatters I was given 5 free spins with random wilds dropping into the grid and sometimes even transforming into a wild reel. This feature had some big wins in store but they never got over 60.75x my bet which didn’t even recoup the cost of the bonus buy which was 100x my bet.

Golden Saloon: A Jolly Western Slot Packed with Special Features

There was a lot I liked about the Golden Saloon slot. First of all, I thought the design was quite good. The Western theme was brought to life with graphics that were cartoonish but still looked decent enough, and the piano soundtrack was pretty catchy and matched the theme. 

When it came to the slot’s gameplay, I liked how there were so many features. These included multipliers, explosions that gave extra cash payouts, and free spins with an increasing multiplier, 2x2 wilds, and stacked wilds. 

Thankfully, I got to experience most of these features during my playthrough. On a random spin, a wild symbol landed on the third reel and triggered an explosion, which ended up giving me a win worth 36x my bet, which was great. A few of my base game wins were boosted by 2x multipliers; they weren’t massive, but the multiplier was a help.

Then there was the free spins round. I only won 6.8x my bet from this, but I enjoyed it and thought it was a good feature overall. I started with five spins and earned an extra one, though the multiplier only reached a 2x. The round could have been a lot more rewarding, but it triggered on its own, so the 6.8x win was nothing but profit.

While I enjoyed playing Golden Saloon, I would have rated it higher if it had more than 11 paylines and if its RTP was higher than 94.02%, which is lower than average for online slots. Still, the slot was designed well and had a lot to offer, so I’m happy to recommend it.
