Just outside the mansion, you'll find 5 reels and 3 rows standing in the way, connected by 11 paylines with a medium volatility setting. From my experience, the game tends to deliver quick, small wins, with payouts ranging from 0.15x to 1.50x my bet every two to four spins. The symbol payouts are on the lower side, but they get a boost from multipliers.

The multiplier symbols activate whenever you land a winning combination along with a multiplier symbol on the reels. I mostly landed wins with the 2x and 4x multipliers, which are the lowest available, but they still gave me some decent returns, up to 3x my bet. Despite these wins, my bankroll was shrinking fast and I needed to turn things around quickly. 

I had played for over half an hour without the sign of any scatters for the most part so I decided to buy the bonus game and see what the wins looked like. Once inside with 3 scatters I was given 5 free spins with random wilds dropping into the grid and sometimes even transforming into a wild reel. This feature had some big wins in store but they never got over 60.75x my bet which didn’t even recoup the cost of the bonus buy which was 100x my bet. 

In short, the Scary Family slot by Octavian Gaming has an interesting premise and a few unique features, but it falls short when it comes to profitability. The base game payouts are quite poor, and the bonus game takes far too long to trigger, making it hardly worth playing. I wouldn't recommend giving this slot a try.
