Immersed in the mystical deserts of ancient Arabia, The Great Genie by Playtech transports players to a world of golden reels and enigmatic artifacts. This slot is rich with enticing features such as massive 3x3 symbols, an exciting bonus wheel, and a perilous treasure hunt that offers the chance for big rewards. 

The base game features a dynamic setup with 5 reels and 3 rows, extended across 50 paylines, and marked by high volatility. This structure kept the gameplay exciting, as wins were frequent but still carried the potential for significant impact. Typically, I recorded wins every 3 to 6 spins, with payouts varying from 0.80x to 3.40x my bet. 

During my playthrough of the base game, many of the larger wins, up to 8.40x in my case, came from wilds enhancing regular symbol combinations. These wild symbols appeared consistently across the reels and were especially valuable as they could contribute to multiple winning combinations, not just the highest paying line. 

The Make a Wish feature, though randomly triggered, was surprisingly easy to activate. Once initiated, it presents a choice among three hidden features, which could include random wilds, stacked symbols, wild multipliers, or even giant 3x3 symbols. Among these options, the most rewarding was the Wish for Bonus Game. 

This feature transports you to a new grid where you match three gemstones to unlock a prize, adding an extra layer of excitement to the gameplay. I was quite lucky with my picks which enabled me to get a 15x win. On a related note, you can also gamble the features you win from the Make a Wish feature to get a chance to enter the Treasure Quest bonus. 

Coming to the free spins bonus games, again I was pleasantly surprised to see three different options. There are spins with stacked wilds, spins with a collect symbol that catches all coin values and extra spins, and free spins with locked wilds which I was able to trigger. The wins during the round came out to a decent 12x my bet but I was expecting more off of the spins. 

Finally, there’s also a re-spin bonus which can be triggered and is played on a bigger 5x5 grid with power-up symbols and special prizes up to 100x your bet. Although all of these features were a treat to behold, getting to them wasn’t easy at all. Most of the time, the Pick a Bonus symbol wouldn’t land on the Make a Wish feature. Although this enhanced replayability, it also made the feature feel impactless at times. 

To put it simply, The Great Genie managed to really impress me at times with its sheer number of features and combinations of said features. The base game isn’t just a link to the bonus but manages to hold its own with some fairly big wins which is why I’d definitely recommend checking out this game.
