Spin Fighters: Choose Your Character and Fight for a 1,217x Knockout Payout

The last thing I expected from a slot was a Tekken or Mortal Kombat-style showdown. Spin Fighters by R Franco carries echoes of both, and it hands us a proper brawl across a 5-reel grid, only this time the fight comes down entirely to luck.

The max win reaches 1,217x your bet, and you only get near it by winning your fights. Victory multipliers climb with each win, and the strikes you rack up in the bonus pay up to 100x for a single hit on the bag.

You pick your fighter from a roster before the bell, and two chosen fighters then square off, one on each side of the reels, with winning lines paying both ways. The symbols are mostly tied to fighting combos, worth up to 5x your bet.

Despite one of the most interesting slot ideas I've stumbled on lately, my session wasn't one to brag about. Since my wins landed only every ten to twenty spins, the occasional 5x wins didn’t make up for the lost bankroll.

A win reading left to right sends your fighter's strike into the opponent, one reading right to left swings it back, and every blow chips away at the other side's health bar until somebody drops.

Some of the interesting features and mechanics include the following. Win a couple of fights back-to-back, and a victory multiplier climbs with each one, up to 4x, and it boosts every winning line that starts from your side. 

Push an opponent's health bar all the way to zero, and you trigger Finish Him, a free respin that throws the beaten fighter one last lifeline. It either finishes the job and knocks them out for good, or hands them just enough health to drag the brawl into another round.

Overall, I found something fresh, complex, and immersive. But to stay immersed in the action, and not only in the work the production put into the theme, but the grid has to give a lot more than it did. Nevertheless, I still have at least one more fight in me, and I want to see firsthand the potential this slot clearly holds.
