Some games are simply not my cup of tea, and Zorro: Final Duel by R Franco falls into that category. On paper, it promises a Wild West showdown with duels, outlaws, and Zorro stepping in as the masked hero. In practice, however, the whole presentation feels a bit off. 

The dusty town backdrop is dull, the character art looks oddly stiff, and the soundtrack loops in the background without ever creating tension. Instead of pulling me in, it left me waiting for something to spark.

Wilds appear only on reels 2 and 4, and when they land together, the game triggers a duel. One Wild expands and stays on the reels with a multiplier, while the losing Wild goes back to normal. 

Furthermore, Scatters land on reels 1, 3, and 5, and three of them unlock the Final Duel Bonus with five duels. It’s a clever idea, letting the Sheriff and outlaws battle it out, but the execution feels more like a drawn-out sequence than an adrenaline rush.

The only real highlight of my session came when both Wilds landed on reels 2 and 4. They triggered a duel, and reel 4 came out on top with a x5 multiplier. I already had a few outlaw symbols lined up across the reels, so when that multiplier kicked in, the total payout shot up to 53x my bet. 

It wasn’t life-changing, but after so many dry spins, it felt like a proper hit. That showed the mechanics can deliver, even if those moments were rare. It all came down to a combination that got me right where I started.

If you get impatient, you can buy into the Final Duel for €5, though the RTP drops slightly. I didn’t have much luck with it, and with the max bet capped at €25, chasing bigger wins never felt possible. After a long, dry session, I walked away more tired than entertained.
