Symbols pay up to 100x, and on a 5x3 grid with 10 paylines, it sounded like a fair offer. In reality, my wins ranged sluggishly between 0.5x and 2.5x my bet every 5 to 10 spins. 

You can also collect fish prizes up to 25x, but you'll need to land the Fisherman, who sweeps every visible fish value into the win and substitutes for everything but the scatter. While I usually count on this feature when I play, since it really has the power to break slow rhythms, this time it felt like he had packed up and gone home.

In the bonus game, that fisherman carries his own multiplier meter with him, besides the usual fishing setup. Every fish value gets multiplied by the meter before it joins the win, and the meter climbs from 2x through 3x to 5x.

To trigger the bonus game, you'll need to land at least three scatters, and five of them give you 20 free spins. Moreover, every four collected fishermen push the meter up a level and hand you five more free spins.

I didn't think it would be the case, but I had more luck with the respin feature than with triggering the bonus game. A Hunter fish slips in when fish are on the grid, and no Fisherman is around, banks every visible value, and starts respins that run on as long as new fish land. 

I landed it two times in 100 spins. The first time, a Fisherman turned up on the second respin and cut it short for 7x my bet. But the second time it produced my session's highlight at 68x my bet.

Overall, if only the base game were a bit stronger, I wouldn't mind that the bonus stayed inactive the whole playthrough. You can't count on a respin feature alone to carry your entire session.
