I would have expected slightly bigger symbol pays if I’m completely honest. Most wins didn’t give me favorable returns and the base game wasn’t very profitable for this reason. Furthermore, most of the reels are filled up by lower-paying symbols that keep you from making bigger gains from higher-paying symbols. 

This is why the double-up feature was so important as maintaining your bankroll makes using the feature almost a necessity. That being said, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the mini-game due to the long and bland animations combined with low wins.

It took me quite some time to trigger the feature and I was quite disappointed to see the low number of spins which vary between 5 to 15 depending on how many free spin symbols you’ve landed. 

Although you have the Golden Horse feature which adds an extra 5 spins per 3 golden horse symbols, it is quite rare to trigger. The biggest win I made using this feature gave me 27x returns which was decent for such a small bonus round but the win came too late to make much of a difference. 

Finally, the Legatus Legionis bonus is triggered by landing 4 or more bonus symbols and awards an instant cash prize. In my case, it got me an impressive 54x win which pushed me into making a small profit by the time I was done with the game. 

Arrow’s Edge has taken great care in creating an immersive world with feature-packed gameplay in the Battle Of Rome slot game. However, I wasn’t super impressed with the title. The low profitability and monotonous base game are a big issue here. I’d only recommend playing it for free on our website and not playing it for real money in an online casino.
