Hunting games usually promise patience and a big trophy at the end, but Hunt the Bucks had me spending more time staring at empty reels than tracking deer through the woods. Belatra brought up to 500x cash rewards, a progressive free spins bonus, and up to 5,000x wins, and I didn’t see any of it in my session. Here’s how.

The game plays on a 5x4 grid with 20 paylines, with regular symbols paying between 0.20x and 100x your bet. During my session, I quickly noticed that symbols love landing in full stacks across entire reels, making it look like huge combinations are about to form. The problem is that the second reel almost always seemed determined to ruin the party. As a result, I often waited five to six spins for a payout that rarely climbed beyond 0.60x to 2x my stake.

Eventually, I landed three Scatter symbols to trigger 10 Free Spins. The bonus follows a progression system that feels similar to the Big Bass series, except the first few Hunter Wilds simply collect cash prizes while later collections unlock extra spins and multipliers instead of requiring another full set of four every time.

Unfortunately, those Hunter symbols proved far rarer than I expected. I only saw one appear during the entire feature, collecting a decent pile of Animal cash symbols before the remaining spins dissolved into dead space. Belatra Games takes things to deep space with Big Bang 2 The Universe, packing a 10,000x max win into a high-energy cosmic setup. I couldn’t resist the pull of the unknown, so I went in to see if this trip across the universe actually pays off.

As soon as I left Earth’s gravitational pull, I was met with glowing nebulae and rotating planets. Right there sits an eight-reel, eight-row grid, filled with moons, planets, and wild multiplier black holes.

This is a cascading cluster pays slot, where you need 5 or more identical symbols connected horizontally or vertically to form a win. Simple to understand, but not always easy to build on.

Still, I wanted to see how far it could go. During my session, I was landing wins every 5 to 6 spins, with average returns between 2x and 3x my bet. But every now and then, things lined up properly.

And when they did, they paid despite having high volatility. My best base game win reached 121x my bet, thanks to those progressive wild multipliers stacking up. 

Because those multipliers did most of the work, even smaller wins grew into something meaningful. Sure, it doesn’t happen every time, but when it does, you notice it.

You need 3 or more black hole symbols to trigger it, which took me close to 190 spins. Not a quick journey, but you can’t really complain in the middle of nowhere.

The bonus starts with 5 spins, and I managed to land 5 additional respins along the way. With the help of those progressive multipliers, I ended up with an 879x win. Unbelievable, but I’ll take that kind of ending every time.

If you don’t want to wait, there’s an ante bet option at 1.2x your stake to improve your chances. I didn’t feel the need to use it after that session.

So if you’re heading into Big Bang 2 The Universe, be ready for a long trip. But if things align, it can turn into a rewarding one, and that’s why I’m definitely coming back.

Jackpot Pagoda: Worth Playing, If Only for the Respin Round

Jackpot Pagoda is a pleasant Asian-themed slot whose reels are set within a pagoda. The background image shows a lovely mountain landscape at sunrise, and accompanying it is a pleasant piece of music. Overall, the slot’s design is pretty good.

The gameplay was enjoyable. During the base game, I won a few small payouts every now and then, along with a few bigger wins of 12x and even 35x. Wilds appeared quite often and contributed to some of my wins.

My biggest haul came from the Hold and Win respin round. This triggered naturally when I landed three coins on the slot’s middle reel. Respin features are very common in slots, but this one worked in a way I’ve never seen before.

I started on the slot’s usual grid, which had a 1x multiplier. After filling all nine positions with symbols, I then moved up to a second grid with a 2x multiplier. There were three more grids (3x, 10x, and jackpots), but I didn’t reach these, unfortunately.

This was because I ran out of respins before filling the second grid with coins. My winnings from the first grid had the 1x multiplier applied to them; my second grid winnings were doubled by the 2x multiplier.

Thanks to this, I ended up with a win of 70x, which I was really pleased with. I liked how the round worked and thought it was a fresh take on the respin feature. One thing about the slot that could have been improved was the number of paylines.

Even though I earned a few big payouts in the base game, having just a few more paylines could have helped prevent me from ending my playthrough with a loss. Still, I’d suggest giving Jackpot Pagoda a go, if only to play Hold and Win and try to make it to the jackpots.
