Potion Spells: Brew up a Winning Potion With 2x Multipliers and Jumbo Wilds

Monster parts, common critters, and mysterious mushrooms make for the best Potions as we all know. How about adding cascading reels, cluster pays, and giant 2x2 symbols with 2x multipliers on top? This is when I assume BGaming said “Say no more” and created the Potion Spells slot game! 

Set in a massive 7x7 grid with all the features I mentioned above and much more, this slot title had all the makings of a slot game to remember for the ages. Instead of the same old mechanics and features, you have a second-chance mechanic that can activate at random and turn a few symbols wild to assist with wins. 

Wins were pretty frequent coming every 2 to 4 spins with payouts ranging from 0.10x my bet to 4.05x my bet. The cascading symbols are vital to making big wins as most symbols have low payouts. Big symbols are similarly important as they carry a 2x multiplier, each time you land 4 similar symbols in the form of a square, they turn into a big 2x2 symbol which helps you make easier combinations. 

Just as with any other spellbound story, we have four different features here named detonation, promotion, separation, and reduction. These features all carry special attributes and can affect your potion differently. The reduction and detonation spells were my personal favorites as they destroy lower-paying symbols and turn 3 to 6 symbols into exploding wilds respectively. 

Now that we have covered the action-packed base game, let’s move on to the interesting bonus round on offer. The bonus is activated by filling up a progress bar to the right side of the reels. The bar fills up little by little each time you land a symbol combination and when it is full you get three different wilds one after the other. 

The first wild comes with an imposing 3x3 size which divides into 2 wilds which are slightly smaller at 2x2 and finally, the wilds transform into 9 distinct wild symbols. It took me quite some time to trigger this feature but the returns coming in at 44.40x my bet were definitely worth it. 

Brewing up potions was hard work in Potion Spells by BGaming. Although it had a slow start with low symbol pays, the game has a ton of distinct features built around the theme to make some impressive wins. If you enjoy a whacky theme with a hint of magic, I’d recommend giving this game a try!
