The base game here packs quite the punch despite having only 3 reels, 3 rows, and 8 paylines. Even the lowest symbols bring 2x returns on your bet and the winning lines are arranged in an interesting new configuration. Within this setup landing an entire reel full of matching symbols also brings payouts which is pretty hard to find in other titles. 

In my session, the start was as action-packed as it could get. On my second spin, I landed a 4x win, and by the fourth spin, I got a big win worth 20x my bet! The different setup of the winning lines brought some issues for me, though. The game requires matching symbols to be in a straight line or diagonally, and I often noticed matching symbols that would pay out in standard slots but didn't qualify here. 

Gameplay was slower-paced than most classic slots and a gamble game available after each win was a decent addition here. Wins in the base game can be highly unpredictable and there were long stretches of time where I had to make up to 30 bets just to trigger a symbol combination. The jackpots are not even visible on screen when you play and the game incentivises higher bets if you want to chase them which is not a good idea. 

Overall, I found Concept Gaming's Heroes of Fortune slot game a bit disappointing. The potential is there with its beautifully crafted world and powerful superheroes, but it lacks the features needed to make the gameplay truly engaging. I hope the developers come up with a sequel that offers a more rewarding gameplay experience, as the current version just doesn't feel worth it to me.
