Book of Khonsu: Brush Away the Sand for 5,000x Egyptian Rewards

GameBeat has taken advantage of my excavation hobby and dragged me into Ancient Egypt with Book of Khonsu. Somewhere underneath the golden sands beside the Nile sits a 5,000x max win, along with instant scatter pays and 5 jackpots worth up to 1,000x my bet. And I wasn't going to let a bit of sand get between me and the treasure.

This classic book-style slot runs across five reels, three rows, and 10 paylines. The RTP is respectable, although the volatility is fairly high, so I'd bring at least 200x your bet if you fancy giving Khonsu a proper go.

The base game was certainly in no hurry. I was waiting around 7 to 8 spins between wins, with most returns landing between 2x and 3x my bet. The wilds did their bit whenever they showed up, pushing some payouts to 6x, 7x, and 8x. My biggest base game hit reached 35x my bet, which had my hopes high.

The wilds also act as scatters, so landing 3 or more not only triggers the bonus but also awards an instant payout of up to 200x your bet. That's a rather decent two-for-one, assuming Khonsu is feeling generous.

After roughly 40 spins, the Egyptian gods stopped ignoring me. 4 scatters landed, giving me an instant 20x payout and 8 free spins. The bonus eventually climbed to 60x my bet, with another 5 free spins added along the way. Not quite pharaoh-level riches, but it was just enough.

The second bonus was less impressive, returning just 30x my bet. There's also a bonus buy feature for 100x your stake, while the Jackpot Hunter costs 2x and improves your chances of hitting those jackpots.

I gave the Jackpot Hunter a test over 100 spins and managed to land the Mini Jackpot twice, giving me a 20x return. Once was enough, though. I wasn't about to start paying Khonsu's bills.

By any means, Book of Khonsu didn't reinvent the Egyptian theme, but it executed the traditional formula reasonably well. If you fancy classic gameplay with a few decent bonuses, give it a punt. Just bring enough bankroll and patience, as this pharaoh enjoys making you run for your money.

PROS

• 5,000x max win
• Instant scatter pays
• Expanding symbols in bonus

CONS

• Jackpots are elusive
• Only 10 paylines

Hell Cash: Harvest the Devils Fruits for Up to 10,000x Rewards

Gamebeat has brought the fire of hell to earth through Hell Cash. The fruits that were once treated as harmless have now turned into the devil's harvest, hiding a 10,000x max win. I put those fiery fruits through 300+ spins, chasing bonus multipliers worth up to 10x. Here's how that journey through hell went.

Levitating above the flames is a five-reel, three-row slot played across 5 paylines. Fruits, lucky sevens, wilds, and scatters fill this classic-themed video slot. The RTP stands at a respectable 96.16%, though I have to disagree with its advertised medium-high volatility.

Throughout my session, I was landing wins every 8 to 9 spins. To make matters worse, it took me 21 spins just to land my first win. Thankfully, the game tries to compensate for those long droughts with exceptionally high symbol payouts.

The lowest-paying symbols start at 1x, while the top combinations can reach 200x your bet. Rarely but I managed to land wins of 10x, 12x, and 20x, with my highest base game hit reaching 60x my bet after eight blueberries connected across two paylines.

Those bigger wins helped me stay put while waiting for bonus round. Here, the feature plays out on a separate bonus reel that awards prizes based on the value it lands on. Landing 3 to 5 scatters, regardless of paylines, unlocks the bonus.

To make things even more interesting, the Boost and Multiplier features can enhance the bonus rewards. After roughly 35 spins, I triggered my first bonus and walked away with a 32x return without any multipliers. The second feature was much kinder, landing a 6x multiplier that turned my 20x prize into a very good 120x return.

There isn't a bonus buy option, but the game does offer ante bets. If your bankroll can handle the extra cost, I'd say they're worth considering.

Nowadays, very few slots have true high-risk, high-reward gameplay the way Hell Cash does. It made me suffer through some brutal dry spells, but it also rewarded me with some memorable payouts. If I ever find myself taking an early trip to the underworld, I know exactly where I'll be spending my time.

PROS

• 10,000x max win
• High symbol payouts
• Multipliers up to 10x
• High bonus win potential

CONS

• Low base game wins

Thor Power Whack & Win Norse: Nail Coins Beneath Frozen Peaks For up to 2,000x Wins

Slots pulled from Norse mythology come in every size and shape, and Thor Power: Whack & Win by Gamebeat runs on a three-by-three grid with five fixed paylines. Frozen peaks and an icy lake fill the backdrop, and the god's hammer swings for thunderous hits worth up to 2,000x your bet.

A coin-collect system drives the money here, with regular coins worth up to 15x and jackpot coins reaching 1,000x your bet. The main bonus is a Hold and Win that runs on respins, progressive multipliers, and a hammer mechanic. There are a few ways to get things moving, so here is how my session went.

Over the first twenty spins, I was surprised by how often wins landed, never below 3x my bet, and as high as a 25x Mini jackpot coin that capped my base game. As the session ran on, that pace felt more like streaky momentum than a steady rhythm, closer to high volatility than the medium tag this one wears. Those wins mostly came through the collect system, where coins drop on the outer reels and the Collector hammer on reel two rakes their values into the total.

After a long swing of hot streaks and dry spells, I turned one of the three enhancers, 2X Chance, for double the bet to double my trigger odds, and it paid off fast when the Collector landed with coins spread across the reels and opened the Hold and Win. From there, the hammers went to work, striking each reel one to three times and collecting whatever coins they caught, while the marked cells kept climbing with progressive multipliers until the respins ran dry and left me on 46x total.

Overall, the bonus made a fair close even without much force behind it. The hammer smashing coins loose stayed the most satisfying beat, in the base game and the bonus alike. I would trade some flash for higher payouts and a steadier base game, but you cannot always get what you want.

PROS

• Up to 2,000x max win
• Satisfying hammer collects
• Frequent early wins
• Extra cost for better bonus odds

CONS

• Weaker bonus return
• Streaky base game
