Lightning Wins: A Classic Slot with Respins That Are Hard to Trigger

When I started playing Lightning Wins, I liked how it had a classic slot theme, but had a modern vibe to it as well. The background music was fairly modern and quite catchy, and the background image, showing a burst of yellow and blue light, looked good.

Then there was the gameplay. Classic slots tend to keep things basic, and that was the case with Lightning Wins. However, there was a free spins round where each lightning bolt symbol doubled the round’s total payout.

This sounded promising and seemed like it had the potential to be rewarding. Unfortunately, I never got to play the round. I needed to land a lightning bolt symbol on the middle reel in a winning combination, which never happened.

I was disappointed that I never got to experience the slot’s one and only special feature. There were quite a few spins where it came close to triggering, but sadly, it wasn’t meant to be. 

The base game wasn’t too bad. Even though there were just five paylines in play, I managed to earn a few decent payouts here and there. My biggest was 12x my bet; I also won 10x, 8x, and around half a dozen payouts of 4x.

These weren’t enough to help me come close to breaking even. The payouts were pretty good overall, but there weren’t that many of them. By the time I finished playing, I’d lost quite a lot of money.

I liked the design of Lightning Wins and thought the slot was presented well. I would have enjoyed playing it more if I’d triggered the free spins round just once and had scored a few wins. I’d still suggest playing it if you like simple slots.
