One of the newest is Pirates’ Plenty Megaways, an action-packed, pirate-themed slot from Red Tiger Gaming. When the slot’s loaded, click on the stake displayed in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen to change the bet size. There are several options from 0.20 to 10.00 that you can choose from. Hit ‘AUTO’ if you want to turn on autoplay; you get to choose a number of spins and a loss limit, and can also have the spins stop on a feature trigger or if a win exceeds a certain amount of money. Click ‘TURBO’ if you want the reels to spin faster. To play normally and have the reels spin just once, the large circular yellow button on the right is the one to click.

• Pirate Theme. The theme of this slot is pirates, of course. The action takes place on a large pirate ship and the gaming grid is set within a large frame that stands between two staircases. Themed symbols appear on the reels and the visuals are detailed and of a high quality. A soundtrack with fitting sound effects and music accompanies the gameplay and matches the theme very well.
   

• 200,704 Ways to Win. As with other Megaways slots, the number of symbols on each reel changes every time you spin the reels and play. Reels 1 and 6 can have up to seven symbols, while reels 2-5 can have up to six; an extra row above these reels gives them each an extra symbol. If all six reels have seven symbols, this gives you 117,649 ways to win. During a special feature, the number of ways you can win increases to 200,704 (more info on this below).
   

• Cascades. Every time you win, all of the winning symbols vanish from view. The empty spaces they leave behind are then filled by symbols of the same size dropping down from above. This is a cascade. You keep on getting cascades until no new winning combinations are formed and there’s no limit to how many cascades can be produced from a single spin of the reels. 
   

• Symbols. Nine regular symbols can appear on the slot’s reels. The low-paying ones are the playing card suits. The five more rewarding ones include a bottle of rum, some smoking pistols, a cannon, a pirate’s hat and a skull and crossbones. The most valuable of these is the skull and crossbones, which pays 3.5x your bet for one on each payline.
   

• Bonus Symbols. The slot has four non-paying bonus symbols. There are two wild symbols: the monkey, which appears from the start and the Lady Anne wild, which appears once a certain number of pirate ships have appeared. Speaking of the pirate ship, it’s one of the slot’s scatter symbols. The other is the free spins scatter.

• Wild Ways. Whenever the pirate ship scatter appears, it’s collected. Once you’ve collected 50 pirate ships, the Wild Ways feature unlocks and it remains in play for all future spins made at the current stake. On every Wild Ways spin, an extra row is added across the top of reels 2-5. This can cause those reels to have up to eight symbols each. If reels 1 and 6 have seven symbols and reels 2-5 have eight symbols, you’ll have 200,704 ways to win. When Wild Ways is unlocked, the Lady Anne Wild is also unlocked.
   

• Lady Anne Wild. This is a special wild that can appear on reels 2-5 once 50 pirate ships scatters have been collected. Every Lady Anne wild comes with a multiplier of between x3 and x8. Whenever one of these wilds lands, it expands to fill the reel it’s on. If you win but the wild isn’t involved in the win, the wild becomes sticky and remains where it is as cascades take place. The wild stays in place until it’s involved in a win, or until no new wins are formed and cascades come to an end.
   

• Wild Monkey. Look out for the monkey wild. It may appear on any random spin and when it does, all low-paying symbols are removed. If you win, the monkey wild then locks in place and remains where it is for all cascades.
   

• Free Spins. Getting three or more free spins scatters on the reels triggers the free spins round. You receive three spins for every scatter, up to a maximum of 18 spins. The free spins round has a win multiplier that starts at x1 and increases by x1 for every winning spin. The feature, thankfully, can be retriggered.
