Flame Busters Slot Review & Free Play

Flame Busters: Fight Fire With Fire, Mystery Symbols, and up to 20 Free Spins!

Thunderkick has taken pixel art to its extreme in the Flame Busters slot game. The graphics, audio, and animations feel straight out of a Gameboy Advance title we grew up with as children. With simple mechanics and plenty of features, this sleeper hit was a ton of fun to play. Let me tell you why!

Flame Busters lets you don the hat of a firefighter and save all the coins you can inside a 5x3 building with 243 paylines and high volatility. Random fires can drop down the reels at any point which are hosed down and replaced by common paying symbols for extra wins. Despite these neat additions, the base game was slightly underwhelming in my opinion.

Most wins I made remained between 0.70x to 3.50x my bet which seems pretty common but landing these wins was harder than I expected. On average, it took me between 2 to 5 spins to trigger small wins which kept my bankroll decreasing slowly.

On a similar note, the fire drill feature also sounds really profitable but didn’t have much impact on the wins during my playthrough. This feature can trigger randomly and transform 1 to 5 lower-paying symbols into mystery fire symbols. On average, wins made with the Fire Drill feature averaged around 8x to 10x my bet.

However, this is where I should bring up the bonus game as the free spins offered during this mini-game were the sole reason I made a profit in this title. It took me about 30 spins to land 3 scatters which gave me an entry into the bonus game and 10 free spins.

During these spins, new floors can be unlocked by landing additional scatters as well. Each floor unlocked stops the lowest paying symbol from dropping down the reels and turns it into a fire mystery symbol instead. It’s quite simple, the higher you climb, the better the chances of making big wins.

I was able to trigger the feature twice during my playthrough and got a considerable 39.70x win the first time and an impressive 74x win the second time around which helped me turn a profit in Flame Busters. If you are a fan of pixel art or just want a unique gaming experience, I’d definitely recommend checking this slot out.
