Giganimals Gigablox by Yggdrasil Gaming: Prepare For The Alien Invasion!

I must confess, I haven’t played many online slot games that had the Gigablox technology. So naturally I was excited to try out the Giganimals Gigablox slot game from Yggdrasil Gaming. I opened it full of hopes and dreams of some big wins and lots of fun. But you know what they say about big expectations, they often don’t end up being fulfilled. And sorry to say, this was a case just like that. But let’s develop the subject a little bit. Giganimals Gigablox has some vibrant and colorful graphics that adorn the screen, and the reels are populated by a variety of cute and not so cute creatures that are sure to put a smile on your face. The soundtrack is also on point. So far so good right? Wait until you hear about the features, they are out of this world, on paper that is.

There are various Free Spins to be triggered, from Collection Free Spins to Scatter Free Spins, and you can actually gamble them, potentially winning more, up to 24 spins. There is also a feature called Wild Surge, triggered randomly in the base game, Multipliers,  a Collector feature and of course the Gigablox symbols, which means that the reels can expand to a massive size, increasing the number of potential paylines and creating even more opportunities for big wins. Oh, and there is also a Buy Bonus option. Solid right? So it’s legitimate of you to ask why I seem not impressed with all of this. Well I am not impressed because it took an eternity to trigger the Free Spins for example. An eternity and a full month's salary. The Buy Bonus option, where you can choose what Free Spins to unlock, for a set fee, is also not that generous. I barely broke even at the end. As far as the Gigablox mechanic, for the entire session I triggered it a couple of times but with no reward whatsoever. Just a fancy screen shake and expectation build up. And I could go on and on, but you get the picture. For me, this game is all looks and no substance, and it’s a pity.

Final thoughts? Well, as I said, Giganimals Gigablox is an online slot game oozing with potential, but leaves much to be desired in actual real live playing. Those fancy features seem to be present only on the stat sheet and don’t actually pay. Long story short, it disappointed me, but hey, maybe I caught a bad day. Maybe you’ll get more lucky than me, and maybe you’ll get those fabled wins. All in all, it’s worth a look if you enjoy funny aliens, fancy features and potentially good wins. Just be careful and pull out if you get the feeling the game is not what you expect. Gamble responsibly!
