Le Hooligan: Join Smokey's Football Riot For up to 10,000x Wins

Le Hooligan by Hacksaw Gaming throws Smokey the raccoon into full football hooligan mode outside a packed World Cup stadium. There are beer mugs flying across the reels, scarves everywhere, giant rainbow symbols dropping up to 500x cash prizes, and enough horns blasting in the background to make me feel like I’d accidentally bought tickets for the wrong side of the stadium. 

The game uses a 6x5 cluster pays grid where 5 matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically create wins. Every winning cluster triggers cascading symbols, keeping the reels active most of the time. Symbol values scale surprisingly well, though, starting at 0.10x and reaching up to 100x for higher symbols. 

In my session, base game wins landed every 3 to 4 spins, usually paying around 0.30x to 1x my bet early on. One thing I actually appreciated was the regular wild symbol. Hacksaw usually keeps these setups pretty strict, so seeing wilds appear every couple of spins helped the base game feel less dead. That said, with how large the grid is, a single wild rarely changed much by itself.

The real money comes from the Marked Squares mechanic. Winning cascades leave highlighted spaces behind, and when a Rainbow symbol lands, those spots reveal cash prizes, multipliers, or Bucket of Gold collect symbols. Most of my better hits came from Rainbows pulling together 3x to 5x coin setups while the collect symbols vacuumed everything off the board.

Free spins are triggered by landing 3 trophy scatters, awarding 8 spins. I triggered the feature twice, and both bonuses felt completely dependent on Rainbow timing. The first round connected regularly, chaining together enough coin values and collects to finish at 45.90x my bet. The second trigger slowed down badly once the Rainbows disappeared for a few spins, ending at a much weaker 32.30x total.

Le Hooligan still has the same satisfying cascade-and-collect gameplay loop that made Le Bandit popular, but it never really escapes the feeling of being a football-themed reskin. If you already enjoy the original formula, this works perfectly fine. Just don’t expect Smokey wearing a scarf to suddenly reinvent the game.
