Mancala Gaming has chained up its latest brainchild, Coin Craze Unlock Reels, keeping a 10,000x max win hidden behind locked rows. This three-reel, five-row machine starts with only the middle row active, while the top and bottom rows remain chained. I spent more than two hours trying to unlock them, hoping to land one of the four jackpots. Here's how that mission turned out.

Instead of symbol payouts, the game relies on a pure cash-collection mechanic. The grid is filled with cash coins worth up to 20x your bet, alongside collector symbols and keys used to unlock the chained rows for additional rewards.

Peculiar as it may seem, I have to admit I didn't appreciate the setup. A layout like this simply isn't ideal for frequent wins, especially when the minimum bet starts at 20. During my playthrough, I was landing wins every 5 to 6 spins, with average returns sitting between 1x and 2x my bet.

The collector symbols appeared fairly often, but since the keys were much harder to land, I rarely managed to access the collectors sitting on the first and third rows. As a result, my highest base game win reached only 6x my bet.

As for the bonus, you'll first need to unlock both locked rows using the indicator symbols. Activating 3 indicators launches the bonus game without a multiplier. 4 indicators start it with a 2x multiplier, while 5 indicators award a 4x multiplier. During the feature, you must fill an entire row to activate its corresponding multiplier.

I couldn't trigger the bonus naturally, so I had to force my way in with a bonus buy costing 75x my bet. My first attempt returned 42x, while the second paid 30x my bet. Although all four jackpots are exclusive to the bonus, none of them appeared during my session. I also failed to activate a single row multiplier by filling an entire row.

Coin Craze Unlock Reels failed to win my approval as a slot aficionado. Between the underwhelming payouts and repetitive gameplay, I don't see myself returning anytime soon.
