The icy winds of winter bring out the cold snap in the Cold Freeze slot by Spinomenal. Frozen reel respins with collectors and bonus coins can reveal the Grand Jackpot of 1,000x and take you up to the 5,000x max win. I decided to break the ice, and after 350 spins or so, here’s what I found. 

This slot plays on a simple 3x3 grid with 5 paylines, where basic winning combinations can reach up to 50x your bet. The bonus collect symbol can randomly land on the second reel, and if paired with a bonus coin, it will collect its value for up to a 5,000x multiplier. Pretty simple, right?

In the base game, I had to spin the reels about 25 times to hit a 4x win. It followed the same pattern for the next 50 or so spins, once leading to an 8x win. Clearly, the pay was poor, and even though I managed to land a 16x win once, helped by the collector symbol, the session felt empty. 

After 280 or so spins, I hit one bonus symbol on the first and third reels, and a collector symbol in the middle, which triggered the Hold and Spin feature. I thought this was my chance to repair the damage from the base game, but I was wrong. 

Specifically, the bonus game was great and provided me with a nice 90x win. I filled the second row with three collector symbols and even landed the Mini Jackpot coin of 25x my bet. However, it triggered late in my session, and the payout was not enough for me to recover the losses I suffered in the base game. 

It’s worth mentioning that for a 58x stake, you can use the bonus buy for the cheapest version of the Hold and Spin game. I believe the bonus game has potential and is worth trying out. 

Overall, I strongly recommend playing the Coin Freeze slot in a demo first. For me, the base game didn’t provide enough wins to enjoy the payouts received during the Hold and Spin feature.
