With 6 reels and 5 rows, the base game of Ze Zeus has a fairly big grid with medium volatility and payouts starting from 5 matching symbols on adjacent reels. Despite this fun setup, I noticed that most symbol combinations had the tendency of landing in vertical clusters which meant that payouts took between 3 to 6 spins to land. 

This setup mostly got me between 0.10x to 2.60x returns for the most part. The cascades that followed these winning combinations often didn’t result in further wins. The really impact on my bankroll was made by the features available here. The cash and collect symbols alone got me up to 18.60x returns a few times, keeping my losses at a minimum. 

By the halfway mark of my playtime, I was able to land 3 scatter symbols and enter the free spins bonus game with 8 spins. During these spins, winning combinations leave behind persistent blue spaces which can reveal coin prizes if a collect symbol is on the reels. The first time I triggered this feature, I made a decent 17.20x win. 

Just a few spins after that, I was able to land an additional 3 scatters and trigger the bonus again. This time around, I had much better luck and landed 6 or so coin symbols during the free spins which got me a gigantic 88.70x win. I wasn’t sure if I was going to rate this game very high until I landed this win and saw the potential profits of the slot firsthand. 

Despite its slow base game, the Ze Zeus slot by Hacksaw Gaming gets my approval for its profitable cash and collect feature.
