In the base game of Rock Vegas, you have a 5x3 grid, 20 paylines, and high volatility, and you can’t forget the caveman on the left of the reels who I like to affectionately call Bongo. He is pretty chill for the most part and keeps an eye out for you what with all the predators like tigers, snakes, and mammoths in the reels doing wild animal stuff around you. 

Landing symbol combinations during the base game take some time to get used to. I had a string of losses that lasted about 8 spins in the beginning after which I got a decent 3.75x win. The floodgates opened for a bit after that and I was making between 0.75x to 2.75x my bet every other spin for a few spins. 

After that, the slot went back to being radio silent for another 10 spins or so. On average, I was winning between 1.25x to 5x returns every 3 to 8 spins. I quickly realized that the base game wasn’t very profitable which was expected because the slot has a Hold and Win mini-game! 

Called the Mega Hold and Spin feature in-game, the bonus feature can be triggered by landing 3 or more bonus symbols. It kicks off with a brand new 10x10 grid where new rock symbols can land which feature payouts between 0.10x to 1x your bet. The more bonus symbols you land, the more chances you have of only getting the higher-paying rock symbols. 

I managed to trigger the feature within 50 or so spins and even got a 2x2 cluster of rocks with a 5x multiplier which boosted my wins to nearly 60x my bet. Landing keys can boost the wins even higher as they open chests full of multipliers between 2x to 100x your bet. 

All in all, Rock Vegas does a decent job of keeping you entertained with the base game and brings some impressive payouts in its bonus game. I’d recommend giving it a try if you are a fan of animal-themed slot titles.
